Do you visit New Zealand after the 1st of October?

Make sure to get your NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) and to pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL) before you start your travel

What are NZeTA and IVL and how much do they cost?

NZeTA – New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority
You don’t have to apply for the NZeTA if you already have a valid visa.

If you travel to New Zealand and you get your visa on arrival you need to apply for the NZeTA in advance. It can take up to 72 hours – so better do it before you make your way to the airport or cruise liner because you are not allowed to go on board without an NZeTA.
There are two different ways to apply for the NZeTA (and don’t be afraid there is also a quick possibility for forgetful people, who need to apply at the counter:). If you are in a hurry to get your NZeTA in time download the app of New Zealand Immigration (available on Google Play and App Store) and it will take less than 5 minutes and costs NZD $9. Another possibility is to download a form and hand it in, takes up to 72 hours and costs NZD $12. There’s not much what you need – just a valid passport which you will use to travel to New Zealand, a credit or debit card (Master or Visacard) and an email address.

The IVL (International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy) will be paid when you request an NZeTA or when you apply for your visa. The fee of NZD $35 will be charged with the NZeTA or your visa.

The NZeTA and IVL are valid for up to 2 years and many visits.
